Insect resistance gene cloned successfully

Chinese scientists adopted the “Insect Resistance Gene Cloning” technology and successfully cloned the detoxification enzyme gene in the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Rats and Pests of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on August 7th. With the popularization and application of this technology, human daily life is affected by pesticide residues. The troubled problems will be solved. State Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Rats and Pests in the Institute of Animal Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences began researching "insect resistance gene cloning" in 1991. Under the support of the National Natural Science Foundation High-tech Exploration Project, researchers have cloned insecticide-resistant insects. Detoxification enzyme genes, detoxifying enzymes can degrade extremely toxic organic compounds to non-toxic or low toxicity. According to the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Management of Rats and Insect Pests, researchers have added organochlorine trichlorfon insecticides to detoxification enzymes and tested for detoxification by 58% in one hour. Dr. Qiao Chuanling said that toxicity can be completely degraded within a few hours. The scope of application of detoxification enzymes is to treat water and soil contaminated by toxic compounds, and to use detoxification enzyme genes to make antidote drugs, such as pesticides for humans and animals. After poisoning, taking such drugs can be alleviated at that time. At the same time, the detoxification enzyme gene is used as a cleaning agent to clean pesticides that remain on vegetables, fruits, and other crops, and has more unique effects.
