July Apple Garden Management Focus

Pest control:

Apple brown spot disease is a disease that needs to be controlled after apple bagging. If it is neglected after bagging, resulting in brown spot disease in fruit trees, it may damage the leaves of fruit trees and cause early leaves of apple trees. The prevention and control of brown spot disease should be as follows:

1. There are many rains in this period, the temperature is high, and the spread of germs is fast. Therefore, it is not too long to fight the medicine. The interval between spraying the fungicide should not exceed 15 days, and the Bordeaux mixture should not exceed 30 days.

2. Fight drugs according to the weather. More rain, more drugs, less rain, relatively less drugs.

3. Dispensing should be done in the right way. Be sure to dilute twice. When dispensing, pay attention to the first bactericidal medicine, then to insecticides, acaricides, and foliar fertilizers.

4. The spread of the pathogen is the back of the leaf, so when spraying, it is mainly sprayed on the back of the leaf and in the tree.

Loose soil protection:

1. Tree shroud can reduce soil temperature and increase soil fertility and water retention capacity. If there is no orchard covering the grass, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive covering of the trees.

2. Orchards with more weeds should be cultivated and weeded to improve the ventilation conditions in the lower part of the canopy, reduce the air humidity in the orchard, and reduce the chance of disease occurrence.

Drought and flood prevention:

Watering should be done during high temperature and drought, because when the temperature exceeds 35 °C, the photosynthetic manufacturing capacity of the leaves will drop rapidly. At this time, if the water supply is insufficient, the trees and fruits are also most prone to sunburn. In case of heavy rain this month, pay attention to drainage and flood control. Because the water accumulated in the roots of the fruit trees is too long, it will cause the roots to die due to difficulty in breathing. It will not only affect the normal growth and absorption of the roots of the fruit trees, but also cause root rot, tree weakness or even whole plant death in severe cases.

Trim in time:

In 1.7 months, you can take and pull branches all the time. After taking and pulling the branches, an upright new shoot occurs on the back of the branch and should be erased at any time.

2. Excessive branches tend to sag due to the weight of the fruit, pressing to the ground or overlapping the branches below. Therefore, from the beginning of this month to August, fruit farmers should use the method of supporting or hanging the drooping branches with wooden sticks to make them evenly and evenly distributed. In order to prevent the occurrence of sunburn, the high temperature of noon should be avoided when supporting (hanging) branches.

Other management:

The orchard with high temperature, drought and no irrigation conditions can spray 2~3 fulvic acid, humic acid and potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution to enhance the drought resistance of fruit trees and reduce the incidence of sunburn.

Check the fruit bag, pay attention to the bag after the rain and open the ventilating drain hole to prevent the fruit bag from sticking to the fruit and causing the fruit to burn.

Polyhydroxybutyrate PHB

PHB is a truly biodegradable and biocompatible plastic and an attractive environmental-friendly alternative to fossil-based thermoplastics such as PE and PP. However, unmodified PHB resin has a relatively high melting point of about 160 to 180 °C and is difficult to process due to its narrow processing window. To improve its processability and mechanical properties, PHB is often blended with plasticizers and other polymers such as polyvinyl acetate (binders), polyvinyl alcohol and polylactic acid (PLA).

Commercial grades of PHB have properties that are very similar to those of polypropylene (PP). Typical applications of PHB are disposable tableware articles like drinking cups, cutlery, trays, food plates and food containers. Some other (potential) applications include soil retention sheething and other agriculture films, waste and shopping bags, and the use as a packaging material in general. PHB can also be spun into fibers which could be used for the manufacture of woven and non-woven biodegradable one-use fabric articles such as surgical sutures (Tepha). Other (potential) biomedical applications include drug delivery systems (microcapsules or microspheres) and biodegradable implanted medical devices.
