Goose Breeding Techniques

Goose selection and breeding time

The purpose of rearing geese is to obtain a large number of good quality eggs for updating geese and producing meat geese. First of all, eggs or goslings should be introduced from a provenance and disease-free goose farm. To inform the owner of the disease, it must be introduced into healthy geese that have no epidemic diseases. Breeding goslings should be selected from the goslings hatched in March-April each year, and then selected through 70-day-80-day-old, 130-day-old and 3 pre-laying hens, and the selected breeding geese can be reared. . Because the goslings hatched in different seasons have a great influence on the subsequent production performance, the goslings hatched in the early spring are gradually warming up due to the sunshine, the climate is becoming warmer, the grass is lush, and the goslings can ingest fresh and tender grasses. It can also be fully exercised. The young goslings raised during this period grew fast, had a strong physique, had early production, and had good economic returns.

Goose male and female breeding ratio should be reasonable

Different breeds of geese have different male-female ratios, 1:4-5 for large breeds, 1:6-7 for small breeds, and 1:5-6 for medium breeds. In cold winters or early springs, older male geese, with low feeding levels, and reduced male geese sexual activity, the proportion of males and females should be reduced accordingly. Using artificial insemination technology, the proportion of males and females can be increased to 1:15-20. This ratio of male to female fertilization can reach more than 90%. In the production practice, the specific size of male-female ratio should be adjusted according to the fertility rate of the eggs. If there are too many male gooses, the fertilization rate will be reduced because of the competition for mating. In the mating season, if the fertility rate is found to be low, the male goose is mainly inspected. If the individual is unqualified and has poor sexual desire, it should be replaced immediately.

Increase nutrition, increase egg production and fertility

In order to increase the egg production and fertilization rate of breeding geese, full consideration must be given to the nutrients required by the mother geese for egg production. Mixed geese concentrates with a crude protein content of 15% to 16% should be prepared as rations. Feed 250 g to 300 g of mixed concentrate to ensure that the goose nutrition needs of Vitamins, in addition to grazing, but also to feed more high-vitamin green succulent feed (such as white cabbage, carrots, ryegrass, etc.) . During the egg production season, the geese are rushed into the pond or ditch to paddle in the morning and afternoon to increase the fertilization rate of the eggs.

Strengthen management work

1. The goose house must be kept dry and clean. It is best to set up a grid in the geese so that the geese can spend the night on the Internet and reduce the incidence of diseases. 2. Set the nest box. Specifications are 10cm deep, 30cm wide and 1m-2m long. Each 30-40 eggs are equipped with a nest box. The mat grass in the nest box is split into 3 sections with clean straw. Nests should not be exposed to rain and sunlight. Eggs cannot stay overnight to ensure the quality of eggs. 3. Pay attention to ventilation inside the house and keep the air fresh. Do a good job of preventing the cold in winter and cooling in the summer and keep the goose quiet. 4. Pay attention to the reasonable density, 2 -3 / square meter is appropriate. The density is too high, which affects the growth and development of breeding geese.
