Little Helper

I’ve always felt secure knowing that everything would be fine when I was away from home. The house would be tidy, and most importantly, the floors would be vacuumed. It’s one less thing I need to worry about while I’m out.

We decided to give Baby Blue her very own vacuum cleaner at her request. And since we brought it home, it hasn’t stopped working. Not even for a single day.

As soon as she gets the chance, she sneaks off upstairs. After a few minutes, you can hear the faint hum of the vacuum cleaner coming from above. She’s busy teaching her “baby” — her stuffed animal — how to keep the floors spotless.

Once she finishes cleaning her room, she usually asks if she can vacuum mine next. Then she moves on to the office, and before long, she's dragging all sorts of things downstairs for me to help sort through. I’ve never denied her request because I love seeing her so enthusiastic about helping around the house.

It’s funny how much joy something as simple as a little vacuum cleaner can bring. Watching her take pride in her work reminds me of why we should encourage kids to participate in household chores. It builds responsibility and gives them a sense of accomplishment.

Life with Baby Blue has been anything but boring. From her constant curiosity to her newfound love for cleaning, every day brings something new. It’s amazing how such a small vacuum cleaner can spark so much joy and learning.
