Just last weekend, Aliyah attended a wedding, and we ended up with some unexpected downtime. Arriving early in the morning for the photo session gave us a chance to relax and observe. Since I wasn’t the official photographer, I had plenty of free time to kill. And honestly, it felt like a luxury to have moments where I could just breathe and enjoy the scenery.

You know what they say about kids—they’re always full of surprises. Aliyah has this knack for turning even the simplest situations into something fun and memorable. It’s one of those things that never ceases to amaze me.

She’ll find the comfiest-looking rock or the prettiest patch of grass, and before I know it, she’s striking a pose like a pro model. Honestly, it’s adorable how naturally she embraces the spotlight.

It’s clear she grew up surrounded by cameras. Either she ignores them completely, which happens quite often, or she turns into a little performer the moment she spots something photogenic—a tree, a bucket lying around, or even just a patch of dirt. She’s got an eye for composition that I didn’t think kids her age were capable of.

Most of the time, I’m frantically searching for my camera, trying to capture every single moment. But by the time I get it out, she’s already moved on to something else. It’s maddening yet endearing all at once.

And then there are moments like this—when she does something so sweetly innocent, like sitting cross-legged on the ground, looking up at me with those big brown eyes. It hits me all over again that she’s still my tiny little two-year-old, despite how grown-up she sometimes acts.

Writing this makes me realize how fast time flies. One day she'll be too old for rocks and buckets, and I’ll miss these little moments. So, for now, I’ll keep chasing after her with my camera, capturing everything I can before it slips away.
Hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed sharing it. Life with Aliyah is never boring!
