The ideal temperature for artificial breeding is around 30°C. If the temperature falls below 10°C, the animals will stop eating and drinking, halt their growth, and enter hibernation. This makes it crucial to implement proper heating measures during the winter months to ensure continuous growth and productivity. First, using hot water or waste heat from thermal power plants is an effective method. Hot spring water contains minerals like sodium, potassium, and bicarbonate, which are beneficial for the growth of the organisms. By adjusting the water temperature in the breeding pond to 30°C, you can prevent hibernation and promote rapid weight gain. In cases where hot spring water isn't available, the waste heat from thermal power plants can serve as a suitable alternative. Second, solar heating is another practical option. Installing closed or circulating solar water heaters, along with air conditioning systems, can help maintain a stable water temperature of about 30°C throughout the winter. For example, if you breed 20 to 25 juveniles per square meter, after 6 to 7 months, each individual can reach approximately 130 grams. Then, by reducing the density to 6 per square meter, they can grow to over 0.5 kg within 10 to 15 months, with some reaching up to 1 kg. Third, electric, oil, or gas heating can also be used. A double-layer plastic greenhouse or steam heating system can effectively keep the water temperature at 30°C all winter long. If the stocking density is around 13 eggs per square meter, after one year of feeding, each can reach about 0.5 kg, meeting market specifications. Among these methods, the first—using hot water or thermal power plant waste heat—is the most efficient. It is simple to implement, easy to control, cost-effective, and delivers excellent results. If the conditions allow, this method should be prioritized for optimal breeding outcomes.
