How to increase the utilization rate of straw feed

Many farmers are accustomed to shredding and feeding livestock. This practice is unscientific. Because of the large amount of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose contained in the crop's straw, it is difficult to be digested and absorbed. If the straw is treated before use, the cellulose will be hydrolyzed and swelled, and the absorption and utilization will be greatly improved. Now we will introduce several commonly used alkaline treatment methods as follows:

Fire alkali solution is also called caustic soda, caustic soda is used for every 100 kilograms of straw, dissolved in 80 to 100 kilograms of water, placed at room temperature, stop for 8 to 10 hours to use. You can also use fire alkali solution to spray the crushed straw, wet, mix well, stack and compress into block feed for long-term use.

Lime solution treatment method Each 100 kg of chopped straw uses 12 kg of quicklime, 200 to 300 kg of water, and 0.51 kg of salt. Mix well and store on the concrete floor for 24 to 36 hours.

The mixed liquor treatment method lays the complete straw into a 15-20 cm thick layer and sprays 1.5% fire alkali and the same concentration of quicklime mixture so that the water content of the straw reaches about 70%, and the layer is then compacted. Spread and spray on one floor, spraying 80 kg of mixed liquid per 100 kg of straw, and store it after 7-10 days of storage.

Ammonia treatment first smashed the straw and packed it into the pit to compact it. Then, according to every 100 kg of straw, 12 kg of 25% ammonia solution or 19 kg of 15% ammonia solution should be poured. The temperature in the pit should not be lower than 20°C. After 5 days of sealed storage, it should be taken out for drying. After the smell of ammonia disappears, it can be used.
