The research team of the Autonomous Medical University studied 16 patients with confirmed cerebral aneurysms. These patients received an arterial emergency clipping from the day of hospitalization. After the patient was hospitalized, an angiographic scan was performed, and the data was immediately converted to the STL format. The research team then used a 3D printer to print a 3D model of the patient's aneurysm. According to the 3D model of the aneurysm, the hospital can quickly make a suitable clipping device.

Usually, it takes 242 minutes from the patient's hospitalization to the operation. The emergence of the 3D brain aneurysm model allows hospitals to more quickly and efficiently produce surgical clipping devices, greatly reducing the time from hospitalization to surgery. Currently, the print model is usually 67 minutes, and with the accumulation of experience, the printing time is expected to be shortened to an hour.
