In the later period, with the increase of temperature, the peel will expand rapidly, and the fruit cannot fill the fruit due to insufficient cells. The space inside is hollow.
2, the fruit development period of rain and sunshine. Fruit development must be based on sufficient nutrients. If there are more rainy days and less light during the actual development period, photosynthesis will be affected, resulting in a serious shortage of nutrient supply, affecting cell division and increase in cell size in the fruit, and the need for pericarp development. The nutrition is relatively small, and it still develops quickly when nutrient is insufficient, thus forming a hollow. 3, fruiting section is low. 4, lack of water during fruit development. The development of watermelon fruit not only needs sufficient nutrients, but also needs enough water (too much water is not good), if the real expansion period is severely lack of water, the cells in the fruit can not be fully expanded to form a hollow.
5, too ripe harvest. Before maturity, the nutrients and moisture of the watermelon are transported to the fruit. When it is mature, if it is not harvested in time, nutrient substances and moisture will appear backflow phenomenon. From the fruit, the fruit will be hollow due to the loss of water and nutrients. This phenomenon is more pronounced in varieties with fast fruit development.
The causes of the hollow water melon are complex and are affected by many factors such as temperature, light, fruit placement, fertilizer and water management and harvesting. In order to prevent the hollow of watermelon, comprehensive cultivation measures should be used to create an ecological environment conducive to the growth of watermelon.
