June Ginger Cultivation Technology

Ginger requires a significant amount of fertilizer, and in addition to the base application, it's important to apply additional nutrients at the right time. During the germination stage, no top dressing is needed. Once the seedlings reach a height of about 30 cm, a first round of fertilizer should be applied, targeting 1-2 branches. This can be done using 20 kg of ammonium sulfate or diammonium phosphate, or 30 kg of potassium sulfate compound fertilizer. For the initial top-dressing, 75 kg of Mushi cake fertilizer combined with 50 kg of compound fertilizer is recommended, mixed into the soil around the plants. After that, subsequent applications should be done by combining the fertilizer with watering. In rainy conditions, you can apply 50-100 grams of chemical fertilizer per plant directly beside the ginger rhizome. Weeding is primarily done manually to keep the field clean and promote healthy growth. To encourage root elongation and improve the quality of the ginger, the soil should be cultivated 3-4 times depending on the growth stage. The first weeding is usually done when the ginger starts to sprout, followed by several rounds of fertilizing and watering. Earth should be hilled up around the plants by digging the soil. Each time the soil is mounded, the drainage ditches should also be deepened to improve water flow and air circulation. Ginger thrives in a moist environment but is sensitive to excess water. Therefore, it's crucial to maintain proper drainage and avoid waterlogging in the field. Regularly cleaning the ditches ensures good water management and prevents stagnation.
