Shandong's Subsidy Standard for Grain Farmers Raised to 100 Yuan/Mu

Shandong Province has officially started the issuance of direct subsidies for grain farmers this year. It is expected that all farmers will be handed out to farmers by February 15. According to the Shandong Provincial Department of Finance, the subsidy standard for grain farmers has been raised to 100 yuan per mu.

In Shandong Province, the subsidy standard per mu for grain growers has been increasing year by year. After successively jumping to 80 yuan and 90 yuan in 2010 and 2011, this year it will reach 100 yuan per mu, including direct subsidies for grain and comprehensive direct subsidies for agricultural resources. On this basis, a reward of 10 yuan per acre will be awarded to large grain producers who grow more than 100 acres of wheat.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Economic Development Department of the Shandong Provincial Department of Finance, in order to actively support the farmers in spring plowing and ploughing, Shandong Province's fiscal 6.58 billion yuan in direct financing of grain has been allocated in recent days. Shandong Province requires that subsidy funds be guaranteed to be directly distributed to grain farmers through the “Shandong Provincial Finance Subsidy for Agriculture”, and any organization or individual is strictly prohibited from withholding, embezzling, or deducting other expenses.

Since the implementation of the subsidy for grain farmers in 2004, Shandong Province has actively improved and perfected the subsidy mechanism, which has continuously increased the amount of beneficial farmers. The annual total subsidy has increased from 736 million yuan in 2004 to 6.589 billion yuan this year, with an average annual growth of 31.52%. The amount of subsidy achieves "nine consecutive increases."
