April open vegetable cultivation management

In early April, Winter-hardy vegetables like spinach, salsify, rapeseed, and lettuce began to flourish, signaling the start of a new growing season. Alongside this, pests such as aphids and whiteflies started to appear in larger numbers. To ensure effective pest control while using low-toxicity pesticides like Emamectin, Diflubenzuron, and Acetamiprid, it's important to apply them promptly and consistently for better results. At the end of the year, several Spring crops were planted, including varieties like Luchunbai No.1 for spring cabbage, early maturing radishes with large roots, and French pod beans, as well as seasonal beans. After sowing, it’s essential to cover the soil with mulch to raise the temperature and promote germination. Seedlings such as celery, gourds, loofah, and pumpkins also require careful attention during this period. During the mid to late growing season, small greenhouses were used to plant cucumbers, eggplants, tomatoes, and both sweet and spicy peppers. Before transplanting, seedlings were first grown in a controlled environment, then gradually acclimated to outdoor conditions. Regular disease prevention and spraying were carried out, and products like Yunda-120 or Gold Calcium Treasure (a complex amino acid solution) were added to regulate plant growth and enhance resistance. Proper mulching after planting helps maintain optimal soil temperature. It’s crucial to monitor the plants closely after covering them with plastic film. Once the seedlings start emerging through the soil, they should be carefully removed from under the film to avoid heat damage, commonly known as "baking seedlings." Taking these steps ensures healthy plant development and sets the stage for a successful harvest.
