I. Living habits of small tigers

Small tigers are Lepidoptera pests, adults have phototaxis, prefer to lay eggs on the back of leaves near the ground, or spawn in weeds and vegetables. The larvae are very miscellaneous, and they are harmful to the above-ground parts of the strawberry before the third instar. However, the hazard is not obvious. The larvae above the third instar are hypertrophic, smooth and dark gray with stripes or markings. The hazards are heavy. During the daytime, they are hidden in soil layers of 2 to 7 cm above the surface soil and feed at night.

Second, the control of small tigers

1. Manual killing. When the greenhouse was checked early in the morning, when reticular leaves, missing leaves, heart leaves, and inflorescence were found feeding, larvae were dug immediately near the strawberry seedlings and found to disappear.

2. Drug control. Different larvae of different ages should adopt different methods of application. Before the third instar, it was sprayed with 20% cypermethrin 2000 times spray. After the third instar, bait or poisonous grass can be used to trap. Use 90% trichlorfon crystals or 50% phoxim EC to dilute with water and spray on sautéed cottonseed cakes, bean cakes or wheat bran, and sprinkle a small heap at a certain distance in the victim’s crop field in the evening. Around the rhizosphere of strawberry, 5 kg of poison baits are used per mu. Poison weeds can be prepared with 90% crystal trichlorfon mixed with minced fresh grass. Before using honeybees to pollinate the beehives, remove the beehives from the outside of the house. After the application, fully release the beehive. Then move the bees into the room to prevent bees from being killed by the phytotoxicity.

3. Weeding in time. The weeds in the greenhouse are removed and burned to destroy the larvae.
