Green pepper simple preservation method

1. The cylinder storage method involves placing the green peppers with their stems facing upward inside a cylindrical container. A layer of green peppers is placed, followed by a thin layer of sand—ensuring that the peppers are not visible through the sand. This process continues until the cylinder is nearly full. Once completed, two layers of kraft paper are placed on top to seal the container, and it is then stored in a shaded area. When kept at 0°C, this method allows green peppers to be stored for up to two months without significant spoilage. 2. The grass ash method is another effective way to store green peppers. First, the interior walls of the storage area are coated with a 3-5 cm thick layer of ash. The selected green peppers are then evenly placed on top of this layer. After each layer of peppers is added, a small amount of ash is sprinkled over them. This technique helps maintain the vibrant green color of the peppers and significantly extends their shelf life. Additionally, the ash acts as a natural preservative, reducing the risk of mold and decay. This method is particularly useful for long-term storage in dry and cool environments.
