Potato Calcium Deficiency: Early pale apical buds of young leaflets appear pale green bands, necrosis causes the leaflets to shrink or twist, and in severe cases, apical buds or axillary buds die. The roots are prone to necrosis, the tubers are small, and there are abnormally formed strings of small tubers with necrotic spots in the marrow of the tubers.
Preventive measures: Calcium deficiency is prone to occur in soil with strong acidity. Appropriate amount of lime can be used to supplement the deficiency of calcium in the soil or to adjust soil pH.
