Recently, most districts and counties in Chongqing suffered from heavy rainfall, and some of the corn fields were seriously affected. Due to different fertility processes and disasters in different regions, it is not difficult to unify the deployment of corn relief work. According to the investigation, low-mountain corn is about to be harvested, and Zhongshan and middle-altitude corns are in the period from big bellmouth to flowering season, and high mountain corn is at the end of jointing period to Xiaotiaokou period. It is expected that there will be rainfall in the near future. To this end, we propose the current technical measures for disaster prevention and reduction of maize.

1, seriously assess the disaster, guide the disaster relief

The rains are mostly short-term heavy rainfall. When organizations organize disaster relief work, they must do a good job in disaster assessment and guide disaster relief according to the principle of classified guidance. If the flooding time is too long, the corn will die; or the corn stems will be broken after strong winds and heavy rainfall, resulting in a large area of no-revenue income. Farmers should be promptly organized to plant short-season vegetables. Corn in the low-altitude areas of the western region is about to be harvested. It is necessary to grasp the work of harvesting. Immediately after maturity, corn should be harvested, air-dried, and stored; for corn that has entered the end of filling or entered into the waxy ripening stage, if the plants fall flat and the stems are not broken, the plants should be righted immediately and ripe for harvest in large areas. Specific methods can be used for straw. Or the rope binds the fallen plant with the unfallen plants around it to prevent the ear from touching the ground and causing mildew.

2. Pay attention to drainage in time to deal with late-rainfall

In the soil, corn should be cleaned of back-grooves and side ditch in time to keep the drainage clear and reduce the humidity of the field and the damage of waterlogging to cope with the possible rainfall. If the corn is laid down after the flood, the leaves of the seedlings should be straightened and sprayed to increase the light transmission of the leaves, which will help restore the normal photosynthesis of the leaves. If the accumulated rain takes a long time, it is recommended to use a 0.5% urea and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate 0.2% foliar fertilizer in time after the disaster to clear the gap. When spraying, it must be ensured that urea and potassium dihydrogen phosphate are completely dissolved and mixed to avoid excessive local concentrations. The burning of the outer leaves caused an increase in the degree of disaster; generally two consecutive days, 7 days apart.

3. Strengthen field management and prevent pests and diseases

According to the principles of classification and guidance, technical guidance was given to corn in the jointing stage and large bell-mouth stage in soil maize. In the jointing period, field management should be strengthened at present. At present, we mainly do a good job of cultivating and weeding and adding fertilizers. Corn entering the big bellmouth should be heavily applied to ear fertilizer. Generally, 12 kilograms of topdressing urea, or 1,500 kilograms of manure, livestock and manure, and 25 to 30 kilograms of 50% BB fertilizer are used. In the spinning period, it was found that the defertilized and premature senile land could be used as a granular fertilizer with 5 kg of urea per mu, or with 500 g of potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 500 g of urea as foliar spray.

Since June, there have been more rainfall and more humidity in the fields. Especially in the Wuling Mountain area, which is a high-risk area for diseases, it is necessary to concentrate on strengthening pest monitoring, reporting and prevention. In the later period of maize, the main focus was on prevention and control of “three diseases and one insect”, namely sheath blight, leaf spot disease, leaf spot, and corn borer. Rhizoctonia solani can be treated with 22-Herosec and 5-merectin in the early stage of disease. Big-spot disease and small-spot disease can be treated with 70-methyl thiophanate-methyl, and 50-carbendazim can be controlled 800 times at the initial stage of disease. Corn mash can be used Zinc Phosphate granules and fine sand, mixed into 1:50 poisonous soil, in the small bell-mouth period, large bell-mouth period and tasselling three times per plant perfusion, prevention and control effect is better.
