The local surface of the wet cylinder liner in contact with the cooling water is corroded into pits or honeycomb holes, called craters. The main reason for cavitation is: When the piston reciprocates, the piston hits the cylinder liner and causes high frequency vibration. This causes the cooling water adhering to the outside of the cylinder liner to generate bubbles and burst, forming cavitation damage, and serious gas leakage in the cylinder. Into the cooling water, cooling water seeps into the cylinder, making the engine inoperable. The cavitation erosion is not evenly distributed. It mainly occurs on the outer surface of the cylinder sleeve on the two pressure side of the piston swing. It may be due to cavitation when the other technical requirements of the cylinder sleeve are still within the allowable range (that is, the allowable value is not exceeded). Replacing new items is undoubtedly a waste. In order to reduce the production cost and make the best use of the equipment, the cylinder liner can be removed and turned to install 90 when the cylinder sleeve cavitation is not yet severe. This can greatly delay the cylinder liner's scrap time due to pitting corrosion.
