Insulation and anti-pressure carcass types are small in size, with poor cold resistance. It is particularly important to enhance insulation, and high-temperature brooding methods can be used. In the first week, maintain a temperature of 35°C to 36°C, then reduce it to 34°C to 35°C in the second week. After that, decrease the temperature by 1°C to 2°C per week until the 10th week, when the temperature should be kept at 24°C. These birds are timid and easily frightened. Sudden noises or low temperatures may cause them to crowd together and pile up, leading to injuries. Therefore, regular checks are essential to prevent crushing incidents.
Humidity levels must be carefully controlled. High humidity can lead to fungal infections, while low humidity increases the risk of respiratory diseases. In the first week, maintain a relative humidity of 65% to 70%, and after that, keep it between 55% and 60%. Proper moisture control is vital for their health and growth.
Ventilation is important but must be balanced with warmth. Start ventilation from the 4th day to remove ammonia and carbon dioxide, ensuring fresh air inside the house. However, care must be taken to avoid excessive temperature drops during this process. A proper balance between ventilation and heat retention is crucial for optimal conditions.
Stocking density should be reasonable. Overcrowding can lead to stress, feeding difficulties, and insufficient water access, while too low a density wastes resources. For the first 10 days, a general stocking density of 70 to 80 birds per square meter is recommended. From day 6 to day 10, reduce it to 30 per square meter to ensure comfort and efficient management.
Provide clean drinking water within 24 hours after hatching. Initially, offer a diluted potassium permanganate solution (1:3000) to help maintain hygiene. Then switch to oxytetracycline water for five days, followed by enrofloxacin water for another five days. To encourage drinking, you can first place a strong cricket in water so the chicks learn to drink by following it.
Once they start eating, teach them to drink first. Mix feed with water and spread it on a plastic sheet or thick paper to help them locate food. After three days, use a feeding tray instead. Prepare a starter diet using cornmeal and egg yolk—mix 1 kg of cornmeal with 3 egg yolks, cook, dry, and add double the amount of multivitamin. One week later, transition to a full-price feed, such as: 48% corn, 3% wheat flour, 34% soybean cake, 12% imported fish meal, 1% bone meal, 1.1% shell powder, 0.4% salt, and 0.5% additives.
At 30 days old, administer vaccines via drinking water. Regularly add norfloxacin to the feed to prevent white diarrhea, and include diclazuril in the water to prevent coccidiosis. Maintaining good hygiene, proper nutrition, and consistent environmental management are key to raising healthy and productive birds.
