Skilled chicken with vitamins

When chickens experience stress, such as during vaccination or transportation, it's recommended to increase their vitamin intake by 10%. This includes adding more vitamin A, E, D, and C to support their immune system and overall health. In cases of chronic diseases like respiratory issues, a similar approach applies—adding 10% more vitamin A, E, and C can help the birds recover faster. For broiler chickens, increasing the vitamin A content in their feed by 5% can improve feed conversion rates and promote faster growth. However, for chicks, lower levels of vitamin A in the diet are linked to higher incidences of coccidiosis. Therefore, when coccidiosis is present, it’s important to boost the feed with 20% more vitamin A, K, and C to support recovery and prevent further infections. In cases of fatty liver syndrome, adding 5% more choline chloride and 10% more multivitamins can help manage the condition and support liver function. During hot summer months, adding 2% vitamin C to the feed can enhance the chickens' resistance, reduce body temperature, and improve overall performance while lessening the impact of heat stress. During peak egg-laying periods, increasing vitamin B2 by 2% can support reproductive health. To strengthen eggshell quality, in addition to adding 2% calcium, it's also beneficial to include 2% vitamin A and C in the feed. When fleas or coccidiosis occur in the flock, an extra dose of multivitamin should be added to the feed to support recovery. If a vitamin deficiency is observed in the flock, the vitamin content in the feed should be increased to three times the standard level. For young chickens and breeders, the vitamin requirement should be double the regular amount to ensure proper development and breeding performance. Generally, caged chickens require 10% more multivitamins compared to free-range chickens due to their limited access to natural sources of nutrients. If the same feed is used for more than 30 days, it's advisable to add 5% to 10% more multivitamins to compensate for nutrient degradation over time. These adjustments help maintain optimal health, productivity, and resilience in poultry under various conditions.
