Jujube summer grafting technology

First, the grafting time is generally from early July to late September. The grafting time is too early, the sprouting development is not substantial, and the degree of lignification of the scion is low; when the grafting time is too late, the interface is healed slowly and the survival rate is low.

Second, before the preparation

1. Rootstock selection. Select wild jujube seedlings that grow robustly, have no pests, and have a base stem above 0.5 cm as rootstock.

2. Scion collection. Cut spruce growing, pest-free, bud-filled, and lignified branches of the year as scions, with a diameter of 0.4-0.6 cm, and leaves to be removed to leave the petiole.

3. Scion preservation. In order to facilitate storage and transportation, the scion can be cut into small pieces of 20 to 30 cm long, buried with wet sand or moistened with wet sacks, and timely watered.

Third, the method of grafting with budding method with rootstock. First, select a bud on the rootstock and cut it horizontally to a depth of xylem, then cut a 1.5- to 2-cm-long "T"-shaped interface from top to bottom; cut a knife 0.5cm above the scion's full bud, deep to wood 1 ~ 1.5 cm, with the knife quickly cut down from the bottom of the bud, the length of the rootstock slightly shorter than the interface, the bud will be attached to the rootstock "T"-shaped interface, so that the formation of bud formation layer and the rootstock Align (just align the top with one side) and secure it with a 0.5 cm wide plastic strip.

Fourth, after the management of grafted 15 to 20 days to check the survival or not, there is no survival can be patched in time. Surviving seedlings were cut into anvils at 2 to 2.5 cm above the shoots in the spring of the following year, and plastic strips were removed to promote the survival and germination of the grafted shoots.
