Licorice absorbs phosphide in wastewater

A study in Thailand showed that planting licorice in wastewater treatment tanks is very beneficial to the purification of water quality. Researchers at the Chulalongkorn University in Thailand found that licorice grows lushly after absorbing licorice in wastewater treatment tanks. The effect of absorbing phosphides in water is particularly obvious, and oxygen production capability is also very good. The report recommended that the government promote the planting of licorice in wastewater treatment tanks.

Licorice, also known as sweetroot, is a perennial herbaceous plant of the leguminous family. Thailand is rich in licorice, and the quality of licorice varies slightly.
